Termites Make Headlines!
It has been an eventful two months. Halloween, Election Day, and soon the holidays. As the reader-friendly girl that I am, I wanted to share with you some highlights of termites in the news. Who would have known such minuscule creature could make headlines.
Termites Eat Abhishek Manu Singhvi Tax Documents
Congressional leader Rajya Sabha MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi has recently become cited for Income Tax trouble. He was unable to provide documentation to prove his expense claims. His argument to the commission: that termites attacked his accountant’s office in December of 2012, destroyed all records, expense vouchers, and documents. It was later determined that there weren’t any evidence of termite attacks or a police report in that regard. Clever lawyer if you ask me! This is a living nightmare… a very expensive one too.
Former President’s Son Compares Democrats to ‘Termites’
President Ronald Regan’s son, Michael Raegan, hosted an Iowa Republican Party Dinner in honor of his father. Michael stated the following “I think of Democrats sometimes as termites […] they’re eating away at the foundation of the country.” Over 500 Republicans gathered for this dinner only 15 days before Election Day. Maybe both political parties should consider changing their political symbols.
